Résumé : Le gospel est né d'une tradition remontant au XVIIIe siècle. Bravant les interdictions, les esclaves noirs improvisaient a capella pour communiquer dans les champs de coton. Aujourd'hui, ces chants constituent la base du culte des églises pentecôtistes et baptistes. Le révérend Aubrey Ghent explique que le gospel est un support essentiel dans sa mission d'évangélisation, permettant l'expression de sentiments allant de l'exultation à l'angoisse.
